Welcome to National Taekwondo Center!
It is with heartfelt
gratitude that I thank each and every one of you for allowing me to guide you as
you develop the skills, the wisdom, and the desire to uncover true balance in your
life through Taekwondo at National Taekwondo Center. Your commitment to Taekwondo
and my commitment to you is to help you reach the goals you need to achieve physical,
mental, and spiritual well-being: the ingredients necessary when it comes to reducing
negativity in your life. Always remember that peace within your heart must be perfected
before it can be shared.
Together let us strive for harmony and unity and the ability to share these attributes
with others.

Self Defense
Self Defence (Hosinsul) is one of the four principles of taekwondo. Although taekwondo
is a "self defense" sport in itself, it focusses on high and spinning kicks which
are not very suitable for real life (street) application. Hosinsul is a mixture
of all kinds of techniques, including grappling/locks as well as defending against
armed attackers etc
Confidence
Tae kwon do is also a way to build up more confidence. Rather than only knowing
just learning taekwondo, we have to apply the principles of Taekwondo in our life.
Though it is a martial art, its discipline, technique and mental training are the
mortar for building sense of justice, fortitude, humility and resolve day to day
issues with confidence.
Self Control
Without self-control, a Taekwon-Do student is just like any fighter in the street.
Loss of self-control is disastrous both in sparring and personal affairs. "The term
of stronger is the person who wins over oneself rather than someone else", Lao Tzu
